My newest novel, THE LIES WE KEEP was released in October of 2015. I'm proud to announce the second edition is now available. There are two new chapters I'll be posting on my blog for a short time to give readers who've already read the book the chance to read the added chapters for free. Click here to read now.
It was an exhilarating experience working on this novel, a bit of suspense, drama, love and broken promises, not to mention lies -- the type that can destroy lives. Here's a quick synopsis...
Sometimes people bury the truth so deep, they begin to believe their own lies. What if you witnessed a tragedy, let someone slip away who desperately needed your help? Would you tell anyone?
Alex Gershom did. He told the one person he thought he could trust, but she turned her back on him. So when he couldn’t deal with the shame any longer, he caught a ride with a truck driver, disappeared into the upper Sonoran Desert, thousands of miles away from Cleveland, away from the truth that haunted him.
Ten years later, Alex saw a woman hiding in the shadows behind where he worked. He knew exactly who she was. Had his past finally caught up to him? Would he finally tell the truth, would she?
I traveled to the setting of Sedona, Arizona several times while writing THE LIES WE KEEP. It's a beautiful and mysterious backdrop for a story about characters with hidden secrets and injured souls. The upper Sonoran desert is somewhere to get lost, or even to find yourself again. And for these characters, the desert's gravitational pull and spiritual undercurrents will test them, pull at their consciences and change their lives forever.
To everyone who helped along the way, my publishing friends, my writing friends, my dear reader friends, my book lover friends, my on-line friends, my dearest and oldest friends and my friends I'm blessed to call loved ones and family, I thank you, for your kindness, support, encouragement. I couldn't do it without you. And that's the truth.
I hope you will browse my site and find more information about my novels and how to order them, or visit my blog, My Life On The Lane where I write about my life and travel adventures in a type of free, run-on sentence, stream-of-consciousness way. Almost as a release from the constraints of narrative written in prose. Which really just means it's a place where I have a little fun!
Check out earlier postings and you'll find great insider info about life as an expat living in Belgium, moving back to the states, my current life in a small New England village, and my ties to growing up on the West-coast.
There are also postings about my 2015 Books Across America trip where I visited dozens of independent bookstores along the way. If you'd like to read even more about my visits with indie booksellers, I have a two-part article featured in upcoming issues (Jan/Feb 2017 and Mar/Apr 2017) of Southern Writers Magazine. Authors can learn how to secure coveted shelf space and grow a larger readership, and readers can find new authors to read. Click here to visit Southern Writers Magazine.
So glad you stoppped by. Please leave a note, I'd love to hear from you!
